Tom @ Woofy's

From waffle carts, coffee & bliss balls, to gourmet hot dogs, tacos and icecream, Woofys are our go-to gourmet cart solution for events on the move (across Melbourne & Sydney)!
These guys are all over a cohesive brand experience - from custom cookie carts for Mimco to Vogue coffee and designer hot dogs for the Suits season release.

We asked Tom:

What are you excited about?
We've just released some smaller bespoke carts with purpose built ice troughs perfect for summer parties. Beer, Champagne and cocktails are just a cart away!

Help! Foodie advice for Summer?
Barbecue style shared menus are a favourite of ours. Summer is the best time to be entertaining outdoors, so why not get out of the kitchen and prepare the meal outside whilst interacting with your guests. Also, remember that barbecues can be so much more than a sausage sizzle – think honey & oregano lamb ribs, spicy falafel pockets, Cuban toasties or barramundi brioche sliders, yum!

Summer Spritzing?
Our most popular summer spritz is the ‘Southside Cooler’- Cucumber infused gin,
lime juice, prosecco – absolutely delicious but also lovely and light!

And their newest venue...
Is by the water -  The Royal Victorian Motor Yacht Club in Williamstown has the most spectacular city views; a beautiful backdrop for a Summer wedding or Christmas Party.

Favourite food concept for Summer Parties?
We are loving Spanish, Moorish and Mediterranean flavours and ingredients as the sun comes out. It goes without saying that we will source local produce when possible.
Roving  pintxo, grazing tapas and a few tins of Ortiz anchovies can really take a food station to the next level with flavour, texture and variety.

What are your Bartenders up to?
We have been playing around with Molecular Cocktail Pearls over winter which have added loads of fun to our Friday-Desk-Cocktails – think 3cm diameter, perfect sphere Mojitos, G&Ts + Cuba Libras . Even with this new addition, we can’t go past a White Sangria with loads of fresh fruit and herbs and probably a Veuve Rose when we are splashing out a little.

GO TO #Melbourne Event Spaces!

When it comes to 4-walls and an all-class ‘blank canvas’, Canvas House in South Melbourne is
our go to, and we of course have fun at our ‘pretty-in-pink’ boozy café,
House of Lulu White. And Sydneysiders - check out Doltone House Darling Island Wharf
which is one of the only 6 star green rated buildings in Sydney.

Summer trends for furniture?
THE SEVENTIES ARE BACK, BABY! 70’s-inspired colours
and textures make a resurgence this Summer.

This time around, we suggest to select a few key elements (restraint is best) to
channel that chilled-out 1970s vibe… for a slightly more timeless appeal! Think classic 70’s
colours of burnt orange, mustard and olive green combining with corduroy and
natural finishes such as timber, terrazzo and rattan.

Other Key trends to update your Summer styling looks are:
Colour blocking and chrome (yep, you heard us right!)

Favourite new piece of furniture
Introducing… SHIMMY
Our appetite for the luxe, the textured & the weird has increased lately. With that,
we have identified fringing is a really beautiful accent to modern designs;
adding a bit of Art Deco flair while still feeling light and fun.
Get ready to shake it, shake it, shake with our NEW Shimmy embellished
flower ottomans. (Arriving late October)

Our favourite new event location for Summer
‘The Aviary’ on Crown Rooftop. (Melbourne’s newest and most exclusive venue)

Favourite summer bloom?
You can't go past a Garden Rose. These local beauties come in the most
amazing colours and smell like summer.

What are you seeing trending at the moment for Summer parties?
I think pastel sherberty tones are going to be really popular this summer.  Big Blousey blooms and less foliage than we are used to.  I think the reflexed rose will still be here for a while but accompanied with the local seasonal flower to soften the look.  I love using a more refined collection of flowers, restricting the kinds and using them on mass for more impact. The dyed orchids are super popular at the moment - the technicolour tones are insane!

We're also moving away from standard glass vases - either pairing or
replacing these with really interesting colours and textures. Using low bowls, cake stands and hand thrown vessels gives us a lot more room to create unique designs.

Augmented Reality
Think Snapchat lenses built into your event photography experience.
We're having lots of fun creating custom digital lenses to match the theme of the event and turning the photo booth experience into something more special.  We've farewelled
the dodgy party props and made it digital - giving us loads more creative freedom to create overlays and filters unique to our client's events.

Social Array
The gif booth with a 120 degree twist! Event attendees strike a pose and our array captures a 120 degree gif. With branded overlays and amazing backdrop options, this is the 2018 take on the gif booth that is going to be SUPER popular at christmas parties this year.

Video
Social video has been the buzzword of 2018 as it continues to deliver higher social
media engagement than other types of content. Creating video content at events is not only fun, but research shows that 78% of consumers are more likely to purchase
from a brand after viewing video content! Think confessionals, car-pool karaoke & mock
music videos. The options are endless!

Emilie @ En Pointe Events

The increasing trend and demand for customisation isn't going away, with corporate brands
and even private clients wanting their events to have personalised experiences
and shareable social media moments.

This, in turn, is generating a lot of single-use items and waste, and with sustainability
paramount at En Pointe Events, we are continuously looking at smarter and
more environmentally friendly ways to inject the personality into our events.
This can be as simple as applying recyclable coreflute facades to existing bars or DJ stations to give the structures a new look, or being smarter about custom design elements and
how these can be repurposed or repainted for another use rather than being disposed of.

Talking about things on rotation, colour is also making a comeback, and we are loving the BOLD shift! Especially when we know how powerful colour can be in evoking emotion and engagementThis season sees an ease on pastel palettes for the warm 70’s and vivid 80’s tones. Now that’s how you make a statement!
