En Pointe’s Winter Inspiration

*|MC:SUBJECT|*
We’re just back from Tasmania, where thousands frolicked in the crisp night air for the annual MONA winter festival that is Dark Mofo.
Seeing a town so vibrant in the depth of winter, inspires us to bring more energy, ideas and shared celebrations to Melbourne’s typical time of hibernation!
Think steaming spiced elderberry wine, fruit crumble bars, s’mores, mulled cider, hot toddys, micro batch distilled vodkas, raclette, ‘hot, dark & dirty gins’, boozy baked brie and more….

We’re passionate about designing and executing events :
  • Events that have a point of difference
  • Events people will remember and talk about for years to come
  • Events that connect and suit your brand
  • Events that bring people together
  • Events that inspire, educate and innovate
And location?

Without bragging, we are experts in Melbourne (and Sydney!) locations. Underground, cosy rooftops, supper club cool, indoor garden oasis, kitchen creative, sophisticated lounging… BUT a lot of these events will also work in your office.
There is nothing better than inviting guests to your office and them being blown away by what you have created – or how the space has been transformed! From boardroom to the South of France. From shared office space to Palm Springs. Foyer to Fancy. We’ve done it before and we can’t wait to do it again!
"The very diamond of gastronomy"

It’s Truffle Season in Australia, and what a precious ingredient to celebrate…. From warming four cheese pasta with shavings of fresh truffle, tossed in a wheel of parmiggiano, to scallops served with truffle, and this favourite canape from the team at Clover Culinary Projects.
Jerusalem artichoke crisps, mascarpone, brie, truffled pecorino & clover honey.
But truffled fun doesn’t have to end here. Think truffled icecream, truffled gin, That’s Amore’s ‘Secrets of the Forest,’ buffalo milk cheese with black winter truffles matured in wild hay, and truffled crème brulee !

Let us arrange an expert to join you for stories of truffle hunts, the rarest of truffles and see, smell & taste the difference between Australia’s best.
Christmas in July
From upside down trees, to Christmas with a Twist and all the deliciousness in between, we love the feasting menus that Ed Dixon have put together for cosy, delicious dining this winter.
Featuring items such as roasted king salmon with carrot velvet, king brown mushrooms, scorched onions & salsa verde and feta brined corn-fed chicken with puy lentils, crispy kale, walnuts and pomegranate. Gluten-friendly, happy mains suited to a couple of hero vegie sides.

Ed Dixon Food Design is the exclusive caterer for Melbourne’s most popular cafes, Top Paddock, Higher Ground & Kettle Black. Available for event hire in the evenings, these venues come packed with atmosphere, stunning interiors and furniture, making them smart choices for your brand – and budget.
Decadence
Spoil your clients! What better time to indulge than the depths of winter. With less events in the calendar, you have your client’s undivided attention. Build anticipation with a glamorous but mysterious save the date.  Decide what decadence means to you and your firm.  Shall we bring a name chef into your office for a bespoke degustation? Provide wicked amounts of cheese, wine and chocolate? Organise a refined chocolate tasting matched to whisky? Take the team for a road trip and have mulled cider and toasted marshmallows by the fire, with giant tipis, blankets, wood fired pizza and a folk band adding depth. Gosh, we could go on all day, so we asked Dann Event Hire what decadence meant to them.
Here is the gorgeous result!
Sake!
Perhaps not what you’d expect, but there are as many
sakes as wines to discover, and sake makes a fantastic food match!
Mysterious and misunderstood, Japanese sake is one of the world’s most fascinating drinks. Spend an evening with wine & sake expert Clare Burder, delving into the wondrous world of sake in a sit down masterclass. Suitable for groups of 10 – 50, Clare will guide you through a customised selection of sake, discussing how sake is made, the flavour profiles, sake and food matching and most importantly – the incredible range of styles and types available in Australia. It’s not just about hot or cold anymore, there is a whole world of sake to discover!
Imagine a beautiful Japanese menu to accompany this experience – or for a truly unique
event, explore sympathetic cheese & sake matches.
So there we go, a few concepts to keep your audience engaged and provide an edge from your competitors… But don’t forget! There’s also Bastille Day, Tour de France, Winter Wonderlands, Après Ski and more to explore. (Check out our Pinterest Page for more inspiration).

We look forward to chatting about your next event.
Keep cosy!
